Baits can be used to repeatedly target specific sequences of DNA, decreasing sequencing costs and guaranteeing consistent results. We can design thousands of baits for species with no previous genomic resources, we can design baits from existing genomic resources, or we can sequence baits from existing baits packages to, for example, sequence a mitochondrial genome to design new eDNA primers, or sequence Ultraconserved Elements (UCE’s) from a variety of taxa.
