Samples are where the magic starts! Whether we collect your samples or you do. Collecting samples that will provide the best genetic materials are key to giving you the information that you are looking for within your project.
Our Sampling Protocols: Read Before You Sample
Our Sampling Protocols will have step-by-step directions for a variety of sample types. Within our sampling protocol, you will find detailed instructions and which samples work best for that species. For a copy of these protocols, please reach out to Alex Krohn, Director of Genomics, via email.
Sending Your Samples
Please do not send samples without notifying our staff.
Only samples submitted through this method will be managed — all others will not be processed.
If you have reached this point in the project, you want to ship those samples off. Once you have all of your samples ready for the shipping process, you will need to let our staff know. Our staff can guide you to our:
- Intake information form – where you will put information about each of the samples
- Sample intake form – where you will answer questions about you, your company, and upload the intake information form
Shipping: We recommend shipping samples out Monday – Wednesday to help reduce any shipping issues. We do not monitor/accept mail at our lab on Saturdays and Sundays.
Our sample intake form will also provide you with shipping information, along with an emailed receipt*, which will need to be sent in with your samples.
*Please note: if the emailed receipt is not with your samples, the processing may be delayed as our staff determines ownership of the samples.
Sample Kits
We can provide sample kits for your project (for a fee based on sample types) or assist you with current projects that we are working on. These kits are categorized by sample type and will provide you with the needed materials.

Our typical turnaround time is less than six months. We are constantly adjusting these turnaround times to reduce this time estimate based on our sequencing run times. Additionally, we are happy to accommodate timing per your project needs.
Pricing will vary by project. Email us to discuss your project and how we can help your organization. We can then provide you a more succinct quote for the project.

The information provided to you will depend on the needs of the project. We can send out raw data for you to be able to analyze yourself. We can send out analyzed data with full reports. We will work with you and your project to determine what information will be best.
